A Grace Period is when rounding rules are applied. If an Employee clocks in (or out) during the Grace Period, the time is automatically rounded based on the rules you have set. There are a few different examples for setting up a Grace Period. Two have been detailed below however any combination can be used.

Example One
The Employees shift starts at 9:00am and ends at 5:00pm (Grace Period set at 8:45am and 5:15pm)
If the Employee clocks in between 8:45am and 9:00am, this time is automatically rounded up to 9:00am.
If the Employee clocks out between 5:00pm and 5:15pm, this time is automatically rounded back to 5:00pm.
However, if the Employee clocks in BEFORE 8:45am, clocks in AFTER 9:00am, clocks out BEFORE 5:00pm or clocks out AFTER 5:15pm, this time is not rounded and will be used.

Example Two
The Employees shift starts at 9:00am and ends at 5:00pm (Grace Period set at 8:45am to 9:15am and 4:45pm to 5:15pm)
If the Employee clocks in between 8:45am and 9:15am, this time is automatically rounded to 9:00am.
If the Employee clocks out between 4:45pm and 5:15pm, this time is automatically rounded to 5:00pm.
However, if the Employee clocks in BEFORE 8:45am, clocks in AFTER 9:15am, clocks out BEFORE 4:45pm or clocks out AFTER 5:15pm, this time is not rounded and will be used.
