After OS Update or Upgrade, Drop-down Menu’s and Side Bar Icons do not function or do not display

*These steps are generally performed by an IT professional

1. Access C:\Windows\SysWOW64 and C:\Windows\System32 on your PC to confirm if the component MSSTDFMT.DLL exists in either folder
   1. If the file exists in C:\Windows\System32
      1. Right-Click the Windows Icon and select Search
      2. Type cmd then press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER together.
      3. Type regsvr32 MSSTDFMT.DLL
      4. Click Enter
      5. The ocx should now be registered.
   2. If the file exists in C:\Windows\SysWOW64, it should be registered on start-up. If not, please manually register per the above steps.
   3. If the file DOES NOT EXIST, please copy the file then register manually per the above steps.
