For Visual OTTHYMO 6.0 (VO) we have added low impact development (LID), Water Quality calculations to the model, in-built TatukGIS map, Compound Channel, Erosion Index as well as various bug fixes. LID design tools are built to assist engineers in meeting the requirements laid out by the MOECP and GTA Conservation Authorities/Municipalities. Changes have been made to adapt to continuous simulations as summarized below.

  1. Eight (8) different LID commands has been added to have been added in Version 6.0. These commands allow users to model both large-scale planning studies and complete detailed LID designs. The new LIDs are:
  • Bioretention systems
  • Rain gardens
  • Permeable pavement
  • Underground storage chambers
  • Soakaway pits
  • Greenroof
  • Enhanced Swales
  • Filter
  1. Water quality calculations have been added in Version 6.0. Total suspended solids (TSS) and total phosphorus (TP) removal rates can be determined by the model. The user can input loading rates based on existing or proposed land use.
  1. VO 6.0 now has an in-built TatukGIS map that will require no separate license.
  1. Compound Channel command has been added to provide flow analysis for main channel and floodplains. Users can now control the number of lines in the travel timetable.
  1. Assess the impact of your treatment train design by viewing removal efficiency in the model schematic.
  1. Erosion index calculations are added in VO6 and users can now determine erosion threshold flow rate as targets to assess pre and post development conditions.
  1. Water balance calculations can be generated throughout the model, allowing users to determine how individual LIDs are performing, review groups of LIDs or investigate the impact of the LIDs on the downstream watercourse.
  1. LIDs assessment includes key information review agencies require in the detailed output. For example, the model will calculate; drawdown time, volume reduction, TSS and TP removal rates and maximum storage used.
  1. GIS interface allows users to automatically assign water quality parameters allowing automated calculation of loading rates.
  1. Bug fixes include:
  • Fixed problems with copying and pasting groups of catchments and other commands,
  • Duplicating scenarios,
  • Time-step issues when adding to project manager and,
  • Improvements to the plot calibration window.
