The title bar is located at the top of the window. It displays the name of the program and provides users access to a range of functions.

  1. System Menu: This is a dropdown menu that displays the list of window operation options.
    • Users can access this menu by either clicking on the icon or right-clicking on the title bar.
    • Depending on the current state of the window, certain operations might be disabled in the system menu. To access these operations, users will need to alter the state of the window by either maximizing or restoring it.
  1. Ribbon Display Options: This button allows users to access/modify the ribbon display options. The ribbon, here, refers to the menu bar.
    • If this button is selected, it will reveal the following menu:
      • Auto-Hide Ribbon: This option allows for both the ribbon and title bar to be hidden. To show them again, users will need to click on the blue bar now at the top of the application.
      • Show Tabs: This option allows for only the tabs of the ribbon to be shown. To access its commands, users will need to click on the relevant tab.
      • Show Tabs and Commands: This option allows for the ribbon’s tabs and commands to be shown at all times. This is the default setting.
  2. Minimize: This button allows users to minimize the window.
  3. Maximize: This button allows users to maximize the window.
    • Once a window has been maximized, the Maximize button disappears and is replaced with the Restore Down button.
      • Restore Down: This button allows users to restore the window back down to its default size.
  1. Close: This button allows users to close the window.
