8.2.1.4.2. Permissions

Selecting the Permissions button will display the Permission Setting Form window. This window is used to define permissions to the Designer’s features.

*When a receiver is selected, the User Info label will adjust to display relevant information about them. For example, it may state “This user does not have access to the Designer,” or “This user is admin and has all the permissions.”

To add a user with specific access rights, take the following steps:

1. Select the application from the Applications field.
2. Next, select the button below the Principals field. It will open the Receivers window.
   • By default, this window displays the list of users in the system.

*In the Receivers window, you can filter the list by receiver type—that is, by user, role, or group. To instead add a role or group with specific access rights, first select the corresponding receiver type before applying the steps below.

3. Choose the user from the list and click on the Select button. (You can also just double-click on the entry from the list.) You will then be redirected to the Permission Setting Form, where you will find the selected user listed in the Principals field.

*To remove a user/role/group from the Principals field, select the receiver and click on the button.

4. In the Permission Setting Form, you will then be able to determine the user’s access rights by selecting/deselecting permissions in the Permissions field.
   • To save your changes, click on the Save button. To cancel, click on the Cancel button.

!If the selected receiver either does not have access to the Designer or is an admin and already has all permissions enabled (as indicated by the User Info label), you will not be able to set or modify their access rights.
