8.2.1.2. Current Application

In the Current Application group of the Home tab, users are provided access to the following set of commands:

*The label of the Current Application group in the menu bar dynamically updates to display the name of the currently selected application in the Application Tree. This provides users with a visual cue to ensure that the commands they execute are applied to the intended application.

1. Build: This button allows users to build the selected application.
   • When an application is built, its components are compiled and sent to the web server.
2. Deploy: This button allows users to deploy the selected application.
   • When an application is deployed, its components are built and executed in the web server.
     • Any changes made to the application are published in the web as well.

*Deployment, in this context, refers to the process of creating application-specific files and copying them into the program’s web directory path.

3. Deploy Forms: This button allows users to deploy forms that have been deployed previously but have since had their layout modified.
4. Un-Deploy: This button allows users to undo the deployment of the selected application, removing it from the web.
   • If this button is selected, users will be alerted of the action with the following confirmation message:
     
     • Yes or No: To confirm the removal, click on the Yes button. To cancel, click on the No button.
5. Deploy Without Build: This button allows users to deploy the selected application without building it.
   • When an application is deployed without build, its changes are updated only in the web server.

!Users must deploy an application in order to be able to access it in the web server.

*When any of the commands in this group are selected, the results of the operation are recorded in the Output section of the Designer.
