Subcontracting BOM Simulation

You can explore a BOM in various ways in CREST ERP, using the BOM Simulation feature.

Click on the BOM Simulation tab to access the simulation options. Four types of simulation are possible in CREST ERP

1. Explosion
2. Single level explosion
3. Explosion (only for products needing manufacture)
4. Implosion

You must start by choosing the Product for simulation, that has got one or more child items under it. Only one BOM type, ‘SubContracting Bill of Materials’, is allowed. Enter the quantity to be simulated for, so that you get an idea of the scale involved. The Facility must be selected. After choosing the explosion type, click Search. The simulation results will be shown in the panels below the parameters panel.

1. Explosion

This type of simulation expands all levels of the BOM, as shown below

2. Single-level Explosion

In this type, only the immediate child item and the parent item are shown

3. Explosion (only for items needing manufacturing)

This is largely irrelevant and same as Explosion

4. Implosion

This simulation shows only the parent item, with the BOM fully rolled up
