To record a new Opportunity for an Account, click the Create Opportunity link on the Opportunity home page.

Choose the Account and give the Opportunity a name that clearly gives an idea of what it is about. You can describe the Opportunity under Descriptive Information. If the Account was converted from a Lead, the name of the Lead will be shown above the Account name.

If you can quantify the value of the opportunity, the screen will show its Estimated value, based on the Probability that you have assigned for the Opportunity Status. The other important details you need for the Opportunity are

  • Next Step and its date
  • Priority
  • Close by date

The Opportunity will be saved when you click Create.
