Sales Orders Only Against Stock

If you want to sell only against stocks, with no backordering, you can make use of the Require Inventory parameter in the Product Master. When this is set to YES, you cannot enter Sales Orders into the system beyond available free stocks. Set it to NO, if you want to allow backordering and Make to Order model of manufacturing.

In the illustration below, the system has prevented Sales Order entry since the item is not in stock.
