Exploring the BOM

You can use the BOM Simulation functionality to step through and make changes to a BOM, after its creation

You can choose among the four types of simulation:

1. Complete Explosion
2. Single-level explosion
3. Explosion for manufactured products
4. Implosion

In the case of Complete Explosion, all levels of the BOM are expanded, giving you a view of the complete hierarchy

In the case of Single-level Explosion, only the parent item and the next level child items are shown

In the case of conditional explosion, only products that need manufacture are shown exploded

When a BOM is Imploded, only the Primary Product will be shown.

The second panel of the simulation results screen shows Component-wise direct material cost of a BOM.
