A routing task is a specific operation to be performed in a manufacturing sequence.
To set up a new Routing task, click the Routing Task tab under Manufacturing.
A manufacturing task can be only of any of the three types: Assembling, Manufacturing or Subcontract. The description should be detailed enough for the worker to carry out the task without errors. You can tag an associated Workcenter – a fixed asset – to the task. You can enter an estimated Setup Time and estimated Run Time for the task. This will be associated with the use of the workcenter.
These costs will be applied to the task for the Setup time and Run time defined.
If the task requires dedicated manpower, the same can be reserved by entering the number against Reserve Persons.
The routing task is saved when you click Create, when detail tabs for the task get enabled.
