Delete a GL Account

Just as a new GL Account can be created only at the Global Chart of Accounts level, deletion of accounts is also possible only at the Global level. When you open a GL account to view from any organisation that you are logged in to, you are taken directly to Global GL Settings.

To delete an account, first look up the account using the Global GL Settings > Navigate Accounts option or Organisation GL Settings > Chart of Accounts Mapping option.

You need to first delete the organisation links by clicking Remove against all the assigned organisations individually for the selected account.

*You cannot delete an assigned account from an organisation, if there are transactions in the account.

Next, you can go ahead and delete the account from Global Chart of Accounts by clicking the Delete link on the top right.
