The first step in effective Lead Management is recording them in the CRM. You can build your Lead Pipeline in this manner, which makes it easier to look at all Leads in one place. It will ensure that your team processes every Lead by its priority and status.

Click the Create Lead link on the Lead homepage to begin

A Priority on a scale of 1(Highest) to 9 (least) can be assigned to the Lead. The Lead is auto-assigned to the author/creator and hence, you cannot pick any user from the dropdown list for Assign To.

Lead Category lets you organize Leads based on the probability of their converting. You should choose them carefully, as the Category will determine the further course of action to be taken for a Lead. The following Categories can be assigned

  • Information Qualified Lead (IQL): This is as good as a ‘Cold’ Lead. Refer
  • Marketing Qualified Lead (MQL): This is as good as a ‘Warm’ Lead. Refer
  • Sales Qualified Lead (MQL): This is as good as a ‘Hot’ Lead. Refer

You can fill in the Address and Contact details of the Lead, and also attach a Contact from the existing list, if any. You can also optionally assign a Lead Source from the list of options.
