RouteChannel
Junction with a downstream Conduit. The Junction is added at the upstream of the Conduit to facilitate the connection in VOSWMM.

The parameters of VOSWMM Conduit are assigned as:

  • NHYD = RouteChannel NHYD
  • Name = RouteChannel Name
  • Shape = Irregular
  • Shape Curve = RouteChannel Cross Section Coordinates table. Conduit Full Depth and Geom1 will be updated automatically in VOSWMM.
  • Length = CHLGHT
  • Roughness = length_average(Manning’s n table), where length_average(Manning’s n table) is the length weighted Manning’s n based on the Manning’s n table of the RouteChannel.
  • Inlet Offset = CHSLOPE/100 x CHLGTH
  • Flap Gate = Yes
  • Other parameters keep as default as in VOSWMM.

The parameters of VOSWMM Junction is kept as default as in VOSWMM, but its Treatment field may be updated with Pollutant. Please refer to the section of Pollutant Removal for details.

CompoundChannel

Junction with a downstream Conduit. The Junction is added at the upstream of the Conduit to facilitate the connection in VOSWMM.

The parameters of VOSWMM Conduit are assigned as:

  • NHYD = CompoundChannel NHYD
  • Name = CompoundChannel Name
  • Shape = Irregular
  • Shape Curve = RouteChannel Cross Section Coordinates table. Conduit Full Depth and Geom1 will be updated automatically in VOSWMM.
  • Length = max(CHLGHT + FPLGTH)
  • Roughness = length_average(Manning’s n table), where length_average(Manning’s n table) is the length weighted Manning’s n based on the Manning’s n table of the CompoundChannel.
  • Inlet Offset = (average(CHSLOPE,FPSLOPE))/100 x Length
  • Flap Gate = Yes
  • Other parameters keep as default as in VOSWMM.

The parameters of VOSWMM Junction is kept as default as in VOSWMM, but its Treatment field may be updated with Pollutant. Please refer to the section of Pollutant Removal for details.

  • Roughness = length_average(Manning’s n table), where length_average(Manning’s n table) is the length weighted Manning’s n based on the Manning’s n table of the RouteChannel.

  • Flap Gate = Yes

  • NHYD = RoutePipe NHYD
  • Name = RoutePipe Name
  • Shape and Shape Curve
    • If the Type of RoutePipe is Circular:
      • Shape = Circular
      • Shape Full Depth = RoutePipe DIAM. Conduit Full Depth and Geom1 will be updated automatically in VOSWMM.
    • If the Type of RoutePipe is Rectangular
      • Shape = Rect_Closed
      • Shape Full Width = RoutePipe Width
      • Shape Full Depth = RoutePipe Depth. Conduit Full Depth, Geom1 and Geom2 will be updated automatically in VOSWMM.
  • Length = CHLGHT
  • Roughness = RoutePipe Rough.
  • Inlet Offset = PSLOPE x CHLGTH
  • Flap Gate = Yes
  • Other parameters keep as default as in VOSWMM.
