OTTHYMO object VOSWMM
object
RouteReservoir
Storage Unit with a Pump and if applicable a Weir. The Storage Unit is used to model the main structure of reservoir. The Pump is used to model the outflow from the reservoir. If the reservoir has Overflow modeled, a transverse Weir is added to model the Overflow. The Height and Width of Weir uses the default value 1 as in VOSWMM. Users should check these settings and make adjustment if needed.
  • Reservoir does not have Overflow
  • Reservoir has Overflow

The parameters of VOSWMM Storage Unit are assigned as:

  • NHYD = Reservoir NHYD
  • Name = Reservoir Name
  • Full Depth = SU_Depth, where SU_Depth is the reservoir depth that is field in by user on the Import Otthymo To SWMM window interface.
  • Storage Curve = Functional
  • Storage Functional Curve
    • Coefficient = 0
    • Constant = Vtotal x unitConversion / SU_Depth, where Vtotal is the last cell in Storage column of Discharge Storage curve, and unitConversion is the conversion factor considering unit (i.e. 10000 for metric unit and 43560 for imperial unit)
  • Other parameters keep as default as in VOSWMM, but its Treatment field may be updated due to the pollutant removal from its upstream object. Please refer to the section of Pollutant Removal for details.

The parameters of VOSWMM Pump used for outflow are assigned as:

  • NHYD = RouteReservoir-NHYD[x]-Outflow, where x is the NHYD of the reservoir
  • Name = RouteReservoir-NHYD[x]-Outflow, where x is NHYD of the reservoir
  • Pump curve
    • Curve type = TYPE4
    • Curve name = RouteReservoir-NHYD[x]-Outflow, where x is NHYD of the reservoir
    • Curve table
      PumpCurveDepth(i) = ReservoirRatingCurveSTORAGE(i) / Vtotal x SU_Depth
      PumpCurveFlow(i) = ReservoirRatingCurveDISCH(i)
where i means the ith row in the reservoir Discharge Storage curve
  • Other parameters keep as default as in VOSWMM.

The parameters of VOSWMM Weir used for overflow, if applicable, are assigned as:

  • NHYD = RouteReservoir-NHYD[x]-Overflow, where x is the NHYD of the reservoir
  • Name = RouteReservoir-NHYD[x]-Overflow, where x is NHYD of the reservoir
  • Type = Transverse
  • Flap Gate = Yes
  • Can Surcharge = Yes
  • Other parameters keep as default as in VOSWMM. Please note that the Type of the weir is Transvers and the Height and Width of the weir are 1m as the default values as in VOSWMM. If users feel different type or size should be used, please change correspondingly.
