Introduction:

This procedure relates to the use of the public address system around the pool area for informing the public about essential information.

Procedure:

The PA system that has been installed in the pool area can be accessed from the Boat Pool Tower, South Tower or North Tower. Lifeguards can operate by accessing handset by opening the Stainless-steel box with Tri key (attached to the buggy key lanyard).

The zones refer to the areas around the pool where the message will be broadcast. Zone 3 is the Boat Pool, Zone 2 is the Main Pool and Zone 1 Aquativity. Pressing the All Zones option will broadcast to all zones.

Once the desired zone is selected operate handset like using a radio. The handsets are to be locked away in the stainless-steel box provided immediately after use.
The PA system is to be used for the following two situations only:

  1. Closing of the water areas for storm/other emergency evacuation: Once the decision has been made to close the water area the Lifeguard 9 will contact Security Control to play pool closure announcement informing all water areas that the pool is closed and for what reason. PA is only to be used after security control has played storm closure recordings.
  2. Missing Child: The PA system is only to be used when a parent/guardian approaches the lifeguards informing them that they are missing their child. The only information that will be broadcast is the name of the child and will ask the child to see one of the lifeguards. This is to only be used as a last resort.
