Weather considerations

  • The season, summer-winter
  • Sunny, overcast, rain, storm, fading light, dark

Clothing – PPE options

  • Rash vest, wetsuit, booties, jumper, spray jacket, high vis outfit, hat, glasses, footwear, sunscreen, water, torch, whistle

RWC V’s SSV

  • Would you take the RWC if incident was on sand or land?
  • Would the SSV be more appropriate for the incident on land due to having extra first aid equipment and extrication capabilities in assistance with QAS

Radio and Phone

  • Channel 15 Noosa repeater – Noosa through to Granite bay, if there’s any broken transmission in that area try channel 16 Double Island point repeater
  • Alexandra bay – Channel 15A
  • Southern National park through to Sunshine beach channel 14 Coolum repeater

Tasking

  • Noosa V’s Sunshine Beach
  • Would it be more appropriate to task Sunshine lifeguard if Noosa was to busy and unable to attend
