Arrive at Net 1 tower. Prepare to set up & for radio sign on

ABSENT STAFF TO BE REPORTED TO NBB LIFEGUARD SUPERVISOR IMMEDIATELY

Check and test equipment – First Aid kit, Oxygen Kit, De-fib, communication equipment, spinal board and other rescue aids placing them in locations as per patrol setup – refer Lifeguard Operations Manual & NBB Lifeguard Supervisor.

Make sure Rockpool area is presentable and if all is in order OPEN. Place patrol equipment out in designated areas.
CLOSE ROCKPOOL IF REQUIRED & Carry out set up for No Swimming. Contact Townsville Roving Lifeguard and follow instructions for duties required that day.

Make announcement via Pa/loud hailer to all patrons that the lifeguard will be going off duty in 15 minutes and after that time swimmers will be swimming at an unpatrolled location.
Gather all gear and equipment, return to tower for washing/cleaning and store neatly within tower.

Conduct radio sign-off with Townsville Roving Lifeguard/Surfcom.

Place portable radio and LG I-phone on charge.
TURN OFF LIGHTS BEFORE LEAVING: SECURE AND LOCK TOWER.
DAILY DUTIES
Lifeguard daily diary to be filled out as day progresses and incidents occur. Supporting statements must be filled out immediately after reports and attached to respective reports.
Gather rubbish from Rockpool and surrounds – place in rubbish bins.
Maintain public relations and educate patrons of regulations, laws and rules
Maintain security of shed & office
Maintain a clean working environment
Report all situations that require assistance
Check First Aid kit, communication equipment, rescue equipment, stretcher/ board and other rescue equipment report any repairs required or equipment for re-stock to NBB Lifeguard Supervisor.
Routinely check and report on toilets/showers during opening hours.
Re-stock First Aid supplies as required.
Gather lost property, log and forward to Townsville Roving Lifeguard.
Carry out other duties and complete within time given as instructed by NBB Lifeguard Supervisor.
All gear and equipment used each day is to be cleaned/maintained thoroughly before packing away in a neat and tidy fashion in the tower.
Any gear & equipment that is damaged, missing or inoperable is to be reported to the NBB Lifeguard Supervisor immediately.
