28.40. LGS NSI 040 George Nothling Drive (Access Track)

Introduction

Public 4wd Beach Access to Main Beach is via George Nothling Drive. This is located approx 950m south of the Surf Club South Headland. This access is alternatively used when doing four wheel drive roving duties or when the emergency 4wd track at the surf club is inaccessible.

Procedure

1. Inform other lifeguard that you will be using George Nothling Drive.
2. Drive south along the beach until you come to the access, maintaining beach speed limits
3. Drive off the beach and engage 2wd.
   Notify other lifeguards of direction of travel and the condition of the George Nothling Beach Access#

NOTE: Public access to section of beach between Main Beach Headland and George Nothling Track is not permitted. If this occurs please advise owner of vehicle that this is prohibited. If further action is required contact National Parks.
