Introduction

During the winter months the lifeguard service operates 7 days a week. Due to this the key to the vehicles need to change hands.

Policy

Lifeguards need access to vehicles at all times this is why the transfer/change overs are necessary.

Procedure

  1. Trucks are to be locked and keys placed on the rear axle behind tyre on the driver’s side
  2. The lifeguard working the next day is to be told that the key has been placed in the position
  3. If the location of key needs to be moved advise the Lifeguard using the car next and also senior Lifeguards

Procedure – PLSLSC

  1. One of the trucks is to be shared with the PLSLSC
  2. On Friday night the lifeguard truck will be taken to the ferry terminal at Dunwich or Left at the surf club with all lifeguard equipment removed and left there for the PLSLSC to pick up. Lock the truck and place key as directed above.
  3. Advise the Club Captain that car is in Dunwich or at the Surf Club.
