15.6. Immunisation

Lifeguards may be exposed to and transmit vaccine preventable diseases. Maintenance of immunity against these diseases helps prevent spread to and from patients and colleagues.

Lifeguards are encouraged to visit their doctor for appropriate vaccines before or shortly after starting lifeguarding duties that would put them at risk of disease transmission.

Lifeguards can have the cost of their Hepatitis B vaccination reimbursed when the receipt is presented to your lifeguard supervisor.
