Rendezvous at Magnetic Island ferry terminal with Alma Bay Lifeguard and drone pilot
Collect Lifeguard utility keys from IGA
Sign onto deputy and LIMSOC (Set beach status to closed) and perform radio check with SURFCOM.
Proceed to Picnic Bay
Perform stinger enclosure checks (In water net and boom inspection is not required) any faults that cannot be rectified within 15 minutes to be reported to NBB Lifeguard Supervisor immediately for resolution. HS & AB lifeguards to leave for respective beaches no later than 9.00am
Proceed to RWC storage facility with Alma Bay Lifeguard, dropping drone pilot off in transit.
Collect RWC and transit to Horseshoe Bay boat ramp placing the RWC on Standby.
Perform Box stinger drags as per Marine Stinger Guidelines.
Proceed to Alma Bay with Alma Bay Lifeguard.
Perform Box stinger drags as per Marine Stinger Guidelines.
Proceed to Horseshoe Bay.
Place Rescue Board and Tube on beach.
Perform Irukandji drags as per Marine Stinger Guidelines.
Perform stinger enclosure checks as per Uninet procedures, report any faults to NBB Lifeguard Supervisor immediately.
Complete LIMSOC stinger drag log.
Perform preoperational checks on First Aid Kit, Oxygen, De-fib and rescue equipment
Ensure the beach area is presentable and if all is in order OPEN and place patrol equipment as per Patrol Operations Manual.
CLOSE BEACH IF REQUIRED & Carry out beach set up for No Swimming.

Make announcement via Pa/loud hailer to all beachgoers that the lifeguard will be going off duty in 15 minutes and after that time swimmers will be swimming at an unpatrolled beach.
Gather all gear and equipment return to shed for washing/cleaning and store neatly within storage units.

ENSURE STORAGE UNITS ARE SECURE AND LOCKED.
Wash down Lifeguard utility.
Proceed to Horseshoe Bay Storage facility.

Pick up Alma Bay Lifeguard in transit to ferry terminal.

Park Lifeguard Utility in IGA Carpark.

DAILY DUTIES
Assume the role of Incident Controller of any major incidents.
Liaise with Townsville Rove and organise any restock/replacement of gear and equipment where needed.
Maintain Lifeguard utility as per LGS 029.6
Identify hazards, implement control measures where possible and report where not.
Lifeguard daily diary to be completed as day progresses and incidents occur.
Restock vinegar stations along the Horseshoe Bay foreshore.
Pre and post 4WD/RWC operational checks must be completed in respective logs.
Maintain public relations and educate patrons of regulations & local laws.
Maintain security of storage units.
Maintain a clean working environment
Remove debris, sticks and logs from stinger net and surrounds
Carry out net inspection as close to low tide where possible
Chains need to be set regularly to prevailing wind/currents to ensure net does not get buried.
Check First Aid kit, communication equipment, rescue equipment, spinal board and other rescue equipment report any repairs required or equipment for re-stock to NBB Lifeguard Supervisor and note daily diary.
Re-stock First Aid supplies as required.
Gather lost property, log and store
Carry out other duties and complete within timeframe given as instructed by NBB Lifeguard Supervisor.
All gear and equipment used each day is to be cleaned/maintained thoroughly before packing away in a neat and tidy fashion in the storage units
Any gear & equipment that is damaged, missing or inoperable is to be reported to the NBB Lifeguard Supervisor immediately.
