Introduction
Sometimes the lifeguards are required to deflate their tyres according to the conditions of the beach.
Policy
In order to keep lifeguard vehicles in new working order, and lifeguards safe, tyres need to be deflated.
Procedure
Deflate
- View beach conditions i.e. softness of sand
- Remove caps and use them to deflate tyres
- Deflate tyres to desired pressure
- Replace caps
Inflate
- Inflate tires when beach conditions improve (this will decrease the wear and tear when driving on road)
- Inflate if cars need to go to mainland
- Tires can be inflated at PLSLSC and at the Road House
Main Beach Tyre Pressure is generally between 16 and 24 psi.
Cylinder Beach Tyre Pressure is generally between 20 and 26.
Rove Car Tyre Pressure is generally between 24 and 28.
