24.14. LGS RWL 2.7 Lifeguard Duties

Introduction

Lifeguards at Riverway knowledge of their role and responsibility is essential to Riverway’s operations.

• Knowledge about depth and hazard zones
• Lifeguard locations and functions
• Radio operations
• Complete First aid
• Completion of rescues
• Preventative actions
• Incident reporting and forms
• Familiar with all SOP and LOP
• Capable of dealing with pool related incidents (code browns, rule advisement)
• Pool supervision
• Scanning techniques
• Completion of any lifeguard training provided
• Checking Soft packs and gear and equipment
• Need to know about the pools, toilet’s location, library and café
