Introduction
North Stradbroke Island is a half hour passenger water taxi ride or a one hour vehicle ferry ride from Cleveland ferry terminal (Toondah Harbor, Emmett Drive, Cleveland).
Through the support of Stradbroke Island Ferries ALS-Q has been able to provide free passenger Water Taxi travel to lifeguard when traveling to and from work.
Procedures
Lifeguards are to board the Stradbroke Ferries Water Taxi (the boat is usually blue and white) as a normal passenger when requested to pay or provide a ticket, lifeguards are to present their Sealink travel card to the deckhand, if lifeguards don’t have a travel card, sign the account book so that their fare can be added to Surf Life Saving Queensland’s account.

If needed, Buses across the island link up with the Water taxis. Cost is around $5 one way from Dunwich to Point Lookout.
When travelling on the Ferry Lifeguards MUST wear their Grey Lifeguard shirt.
