Welcome to the national park induction. Noosa and Sunshine lifeguards are called into the national park numerous times each year to assist the public in their time of need.

Most of the assistance calls are from Queensland Ambulance Service – via Surf Com, but are not limited to the Police, National park head quarters and the general public.

Noosa national park is the most visited national park in Australia.
It has many coastal bays, coastal and inland walking trails, its headland points hold some world class waves, that when there’s swell it draws thousands of surfers from far and wide.

Some of the incidents you could be expected to respond to are:

  • Lacerations, minor to severe
  • Fractures and Dislocations
  • Sprains and Strains
  • Marine stings
  • Heat and Cold related illness
  • Heart and Asthma related illness
  • Spinal injuries
  • People falling from cliffs
  • Dealing with people suffering mental illness
  • Resuscitations (drowning’s, cardiac arrest)
  • SAR (search and rescue) in water and on land

The national park is vast and wide; its location from Noosa main beach is approximately 1km to the start of the park, with approximately 15 km’s of walking trail.

Noosa National Park is very populated, however isolated, and extremely difficult to get resource’s in and out!
