Purpose

Tandem sky diving business permits are granted for operations on certain Queensland beaches.

Procedure

Part of the conditions of the permit usually requires the skydivers to notify the Lifeguard Service with the below information:

  • Their intention to land tandem skydivers on any of the permitted beaches, either by telephone, or personal contact, on the day of the intended jump.
  • If any injuries have occurred.
  • If they require the need for an Ambulance to attend.
  • If they have a situation requiring someone to be rescued from the water.
  • If any damage to any property or person has occurred.
  • Any inconvenience that they may have been caused to any members of the public.

Lifeguard Service is to notify the tandem skydivers of:

  • Any dangers that may obstruct the landing of skydivers on the permitted beach.
  • Any other concerns they have for the safety of the skydivers in relation to landing on the beach. In such situations redirect the skydivers to land at a permitted alternate site.
  • Lifeguard Service should render assistance at the request of the target officer for the skydivers where ever possible.
