24.16. LGS RWL 3.2 Lifeguard Equipment Checking

Purpose

All lifesaving, rescue and First Aid equipment is to be thoroughly checked before the commencement of duties each day and/or after use. Checklists in daily diary are to be completed as record of the checks completed.

This in relation to the Riverway Lagoons equipment as follows:
1 x Soft Pack Oxy/Defib/FA kit (as per SLSQ guidelines)
8 x Rescue tubes (as per SLSA training manual)
1 x I-phone
5 x UHF portable radios – Council band (as per SLSA training manual)
1 x UHF portable radio – Surfcom band (as per SLSA training manual)
1 x Spinal Board with spider straps (as per SLSA training manual)
2 × 1.8m Quik-shade with 4 x sandbags

If equipment is missing or found to be faulty the Senior Lifeguard must report this to the Lifeguard Supervisor immediately and log a ‘ticket’ in Spiceworks.
