Introduction

In the event that a staff member fails to arrive at work with no prior notification, contact or replacement, the following is to take place regardless of the number of attending Lifeguard to ensure the service is not compromised at any time throughout the day.

Procedure

  • The Lifeguard of the day is to immediately contact the South East Queensland Lifeguard Supervisor and inform them of the situation.
  • The Lifeguard Supervisor is to try and contact the ‘non-arrival’ staff member and then find a replacement if needed.
  • If the Lifeguard Supervisor cannot be contacted then the Lifeguard Supervisor South Bank is to be contacted and informed of the situation.
  • If neither the Lifeguard Supervisor SEQ or South Bank Supervisor can be contacted, a message is to be left on their phones, and the Lifeguard is to try and contact the ‘non arrival’ staff member and then find a replacement if needed.
  • ‘Security’ is to be contacted and advised in regard to the situation and the current progress and the expected time the situation will be rectified.
