28.29. LGS NSI 029 Roving Patrols

Introduction

From time to time Lifeguards may be able to enhance the service on North Stradbroke Island by doing Roving patrols of surrounding beaches by 4wd vehicle or Jet Ski.

Procedures

The following procedures are to be adhered to when completing roving patrols -

• Roving Patrols are only to be completed when there are sufficient lifeguards on each beach to allow it.
• Roving Patrols may occur when Main Beach is closed, however lifeguards should remember that they have a primary responsibility to maintain their observation duties at Main Beach.
• Radio next beach and advise of roving patrol.
