30.3.4. LGS SGC 3.0.4 Placement of Lifeguard Equipment

Introduction

The following rescue equipment is to be operational, correctly situated and available for use by Lifeguards at all times while on duty.

Procedure

This is as follows:

• 2 x Rescue Tubes (Placed either side of Pool’)
• 1 x Rescue Tube (Placed with Lifeguard at Main Location)
• 1 x Spinal Board (Placed with Lifeguard at Main Location)
• 1 x First Aid Kit (Located in the ‘Lifeguard at Main Location’)
  

In times of high usage in a particular region of the ‘Water Area’ the Lifeguard may carry or have close by a rescue tube. Tube placement/location is per the Lifeguards discretion based on a risk assessment. All equipment is to be used as per the SLSA Training Manual or the relative training guide. No Lifeguard is to use equipment in which they are not qualified or proficient with.
