Introduction

When a Lifeguard is approached by a patron with a complaint about the behaviour of a member of the public (e.g. inappropriate camera use or suspicious behaviour), the Lifeguard is to investigate further before contacting/handling the situation.

Procedure

  • Ask the patron whether they would like to make an official written complaint (if yes, direct them to the QPS). If they do not wish to, inform them that we may only be able to observe the offending person.
  • Lifeguards may approach people to politely inform them that their behaviour is making other patrons uncomfortable and suggest that they stop.
  • If the patron wishes to make a complaint about the Lifeguard Service, the Lifeguard Supervisors contact details should be made available.
