Introduction

From September/October School Holidays to the May long weekend, Monday to Friday. 9am to 5pm. Point Lookout, North Stradbroke Island has allocated a third lifeguard (roving) to assist with duties as populations increase on the island.

Procedure

The third lifeguard is to be based at main beach if main beach is opened, or based at cylinder beach if main beach is closed. The third Lifeguard can be at closed Main Beach ONLY if its borderline closed e.g. small south swell, clear water and northerly blowing winds. They can be directed to the location, if a school group is to be on the island and is requiring extra attention for a particular part of time, or may be called out to an incident. With this extra lifeguard it is encouraged that lifeguards conduct both 4wd and jetski roves depending on conditions and beach populations.
