28.22. LGS NSI 022 NSI Beach Opening Procedures (Extra Information)

Policy

Lifeguard beach observation duties must be in place from the allotted opening time to the allotted finishing time.

Procedures

Lifeguard should be in place to begin his observation duty on the beach to start the beach opening procedures at the allotted opening time.

Once all beach set up procedures (Lifeguard equipment for the days duties) have been complete, the following procedure is to take place.

1. Check daily diary prior to beach set up.
2. Lifeguard is to complete a radio check with the other beach and the operation of the mobile phone (6am Start during holidays) or Sign on with Surfcom Gold Coast..
   1. Via LIMSOC and Stand by for Radio Check (check readability and strength) (every other time of the year)
   2. Equipment Status
   3. Any relevant details
3. Lifeguard is to complete Diary for that day and scan over previous days of operation.
4. Lifeguard is to continue with their general duties making sure to complete daily report log throughout the day.
