START |
ELLIS / CLIFTON / KEWARRA * Carry out net check and drag inside net.
- Checking boom and netting first and anchoring points.
- Secondly check hoses, cap lines and pumps. Proceed to Kewarra.
- Check radio operation and signal strength.
- FOLLOW BEACH CLOSED INSTRUCTIONS IF APPLICABLE
- CLIFTON BEACH – Telephone test & radio check. Proceed to Kewarra.
- KEWARRA BEACH – Telephone test & radio check.*
- Proceed to Ellis & Holloways if no lifeguard

- IF BEACHES REQUIRE SUPPLIES CONTACT SUPERVISOR TO AUTHORISE CHANGES TO DUTIES CHECKLIST
- Make sure beach area is presentable and if all is in order OPEN
- Place Beach report stinger assessment and yellow flag with Marine stinger caution sign at nearest access point to hut inside Stinger net enclosure.
- Place no swimming signs outside net area
- Carry out equipment checks and beach management checks and record in checklist.
- RETURN TO ANY BEACH THAT REQUIRES ASSISTANCE, SUPPLIES OR REPAIRS SUCH AS BURIED NETS etc.

NO NET / NO SWIMMING |
- Carry out beach set up for No Swimming.
- Contact Supervisor and follow instructions for duties required that day.
- Once all tasks are complete report to Supervisor immediately.

CONTACT DURING DAY REPORTING |
- Rove Lifeguard to contact Supervisor leave message if no answer.
- Any variations from duties checklist must be confirmed by Supervisor Regular radio and telephone checks to be performed with Surfcom
- LIMSOC REPORTS TO BE FILLED OUT AS DAY UNFOLDS.
- Lifeguard and also record times of drags and net checks.
- Instruct Lifeguard Supervisor of any incidents or problems & items requiring attention or repair.

*Check vehicle engine oil, coolant, fuel, tires, lights, controls and damage report any faults to supervisor and speedometer reading. |
DAILY DUTIES
- Any modification to be authorized by supervisor.
- Gather rubbish from BEACH and surrounds.
- Maintain public relations and educate patrons of regulations, laws and rules. Maintain security of HUT and equipment. Check all notice boards in HUT.
- Maintain a clean working environment.
- MOVE NET FREQUENTLY AS PER UNINET MANUAL. CHECK SIDES OF NET FOR BURRIES BEFORE MOVING.
- REMOVE DEBRIS, STICKS AND LOGS FROM NETS AND SURROUNDS.
- Inspect nearby creeks and drains for possible debris and erosion problems.
- REPORT ALL SITUATIONS THAT REQUIRE ASSISTANCE.
- Carry out net inspection as close to low tide where possible.
- Check and test all equipment in rove patrol huts:
- Including telephones, First Aid & Soft pack, communication equipment, rescue equipment, spinal board, stiff neck and other rescue equipment.
- Report any repairs required or equipment for re-stock to Lifeguard Supervisor and note in request book.
- Routinely check and report on toilets/showers during opening hours.
- Re-stock First Aid supplies as required.
- Gather lost property, log and store.
- Carry out other duties and complete within time given as instructed by Supervisor.
