Purpose

The lifeguard in-charge (Lifeguard 9) is required to complete reporting in addition to LGS SB 2.4 (daily report writing), LGS SB 2.5 (Incident reporting), and LGS SB 2.6 (rescue reporting).

The following reporting is to be completed by the Lifeguard 9:

  2. Daily Report Form
  3. Beach Management checklist
  4. LIMSOC

Procedure

1. Daily Diary

Lifeguard 9 is to complete the following in the Daily Diary:

  • Weather Conditions (no tide information required).
  • Lagoon/Pool open/closed and hours of operation into ‘’Beach Report”
  • Lifeguards on duty names.
  • Summary of actions taken through the shift, i.e. rescue, major first aids, staff member non-arrivals, or anything else of note.

2. Daily Report Form

The Lifeguard 9 must complete certain parts of the daily report form:

  • Weather Conditions
  • Hours extended –if needed
  • Special Event or Public Holiday boxes
  • Lifeguards on Duty Names
  • Pool attendance
  • Pool closure times

The evening Lifeguard 9 must total the attendance and individual lifeguard statistics.

3. Beach Management checklist

The Lifeguard 9 must complete the beach management checklist at the start of each day. It covers all operational checks for medical, rescue, and pool equipment. It also allows for reporting of minor faults or missing equipment to the Lifeguard Supervisor.

4. LIMSOC

Daily attendance statistics are entered in bulk at the end of each Lifeguard 9 shift. Do not leave without entering statistics as this will place a burden on the afternoon Lifeguard 9.

  • Rescues and First Aid’s will be completed by the lifeguard who participates in them.
  • At end of day, fill in preventative actions as collected through the daily report form into the sign off section of LIMSOC.

It is the responsibility of the Lifeguard to record all information for their shift. This is to be done in the ‘Daily Report Log, Noggin and LIMSOC (on the iPad, Located in Break Room).
