LGS SB 3.7 Trauma Tent Policy

Policy

In the case of a serious incident where the patient cannot be transported to the First Aid Room, the ‘Trauma Tent’ may be utilised to ensure optimum privacy and allow ‘First Aid Personnel’ to treat the patient without interruption from the public and media etc.

Procedures

1. The Senior Lifeguard/Lifeguard Supervisor/Security Officer is to radio ‘Control’ and request the ‘Trauma Tent’ at their location.
2. ‘Control’ will then organise personnel to bring the tent to the location and assemble it without interrupting the treatment. The walls are to be placed around the tent leaving one side open with a staff member at that entrance to stop any un-necessary persons from entering.
   The Senior Lifeguard/Lifeguard Supervisor/Security officer deems the tent is no longer needed it is to be packed up and sterilised by ISS if needed then returned to the storage cupboard located in the Allgas Building.
