Introduction
There are a few different types of signs around the ‘Water Area’ which in conjunction with Workplace Health and Safety Regulations, provide information on all aspects of the ‘Water Area’ and the South Bank Parklands
They are as follows:
Major Water Area Rules Signs
The signs are located around the pool at every main access point to the water. They indicate whether the Lifeguards are on or off duty and indicate the ‘Water Area Rules’ in both written and symbol form.
Symbol Signs
These signs are the standard prohibited signs. They are located surrounding the ‘Water Area’. They symbolise the main pool rules.
Warning/Caution Signs
Located at various locations around the aquatic area, these signs give warnings on water depth, shallow ledges, as well as the basic water area rules. They are positioned specifically in relation to areas of concern.
Procedures
At all times, Lifeguards are to ensure that all signs are clearly visible. If not visible due to the placement of public property, follow procedure (as per LGS SB 5.18 Placement of Property for Private Use ).
If the sign is damaged or obstructed by a tree, please report to control as per normal WH&S procedures.
