Introduction
Placement of any personal equipment on the beach where general public and/or Lifeguards are affected by inconvenience or safety is to be controlled by the Lifeguard. Examples of this are as follows:
Gas Barbeques In the event that members of the public bring their own Gas BBQ’s Lifeguards are to inform them that public BBQ’s are provided and for safety reasons that their BBQ’s are not to be used
Volley Ball Nets Placement of equipment that requires the digging of sand to hold posts ie volley ball nets, is prohibited due to the flooring bottom beneath the sand being destroyed in the event of the post protruding through it. (this may how ever be arranged through the SBVC).
Shade Structures Placement of shade structures is prohibited on and around the beach area. Structures can be dangerous in windy conditions and also limit Lifeguards visibility.
Lifeguard Safety Placement of towels, clothes etc., on warning and information signs and infront of the observation towers should be removed promptly to allow clear observation and access
