Secondment from Government is the onboarding method when the selected applicant is currently serving in a government entity and will be released to the UN Secretariat on a temporary basis. For example, a police or military advisor serving on a civilian post in field entities.
The government entity needs to formally release the applicant via a Note Verbale for a specified period following which the applicant will be appointed in accordance with a tripartite secondment agreement confirming, inter alia, United Nations staff member status and the right to return to the releasing Government or institution.
When the Onboarding Method is Secondment from Government, the Onboarding Sub Method and Permanent Mission of data fields are enabled for the user to select the relevant options.

- The Permanent Mission of is the country from which the selected candidate is seconded. Select the Permanent Mission of and then manually arrange for the secondment of the applicant outside of the inspira OM Module, i.e., via email or facsimile.
Note that for inspira selections and when the online offer option is selected, the note verbale may be generated in Step 7.
