Upon final confirmation of the candidate’s clearances (including medical clearance, reference verification, visa and security clearance and confirmed availability of accommodation at the receiving duty station, if required), the provisional offer is formally confirmed to the candidates. Candidates who are not serving staff members may then resign from their current employment.
At this stage, travel arrangements can be finalised, and the reporting date confirmed to the hiring manager.
Bear in mind that candidates provide their Candidate Availability Date in the MyOnboarding portal upon their confirmation of interest in the position which should be taken into consideration when arranging for the travel to the new duty station.
It is common for visa processing to start after the acceptance of an offer, but it can be started as early as the confirmation of interest, in order not to delay arrival at the duty station.
