On rare occasions, you may find that you have 2 default views for an entity and that shouldn’t be allowed to happen but due to a bug with Microsoft, it does occasionally occur.
To rectify this issue, you must navigate to the configuration icon and select ‘Advanced Settings.’
Next, click ‘Settings’ and select ‘Customizations.’
Then enter ‘Customizations.’
Select the ‘Contact’ entity and check if there are two default views listed. This is a known bug in Microsoft Dynamics.
In the Contact entity, create a new view.
Name this new view something like ‘Test’ or ‘Test to be deleted.’
Save the new view.
Find the newly created view in the list and check the box. Go to ‘More Options’ and select ‘Set Default.’
With the temporary view still checked, go ahead and delete it.
Confirm the deletion if prompted.
Refresh the grid to update the list of views.
Verify that there is now only one default public view in the list.
