For InMail tracking the recruiter will send an InMail from LinkedIn Recruiter and if the candidate from LinkedIn accepts the InMail it will then try and create a Candidate record in Dynamics if one does not exist already. The first initial InMail that is sent out is not tracked because there is no existing candidate profile in the system to track the InMail to. That being said if the Candidate accepts the InMail and responds, that InMail response will get tracked into the system on the candidate’s record.
