LinkedIn Integration – Troubleshoot InMail’s - Dynamics ATS User Guide

Step 1: How was the contact/candidate record created

“Candidate is created with ATS Sidebar and InMailed”

InMail’s will not show up in timeline until you make the connection with LI Recruiter, or the candidate responds to InMail. This could also create a duplicate candidate record.

“Candidate is created with Recruiter 1 click Export prior to InMail”

The candidate is created in the ATS with Recruiter 1 click export- and then InMailed all InMail’s will be in the timeline

InMail’s will not show up in the timeline until LinkedIn Recruiter connection is established with profile. This might also create a duplicate candidate record

“Candidate InMailed in Recruiter but does not have a profile in ATS”

After the candidate responds or accepts an InMail a contact record will be created in the ATS and InMail will show in the timeline
Some candidates do have privacy settings that will not allow auto profiles or export of profile to occur

InMail’s not Tracking/showing up in timeline – Example issue

Candidates created with ATS Side Bar, not LinkedIn Recruiter One Click Export. When you create a candidate using ATS side bar it does not automatically link to the Recruiter profile as ATS sidebar does not require the user have a LinkedIn Recruiter License and is using the Public Profile. This is a separate tool from LinkedIn Recruiter One Click Export and it does not link to the LinkedIn Recruiter Profile ID which is needed to sync InMail. In this scenario the user must link the ATS profile from the LinkedIn recruiter tab to get the LinkedIn Recruiter Profile ID.

Candidates created using LinkedIn Recruiter One Click Export will automatically link the profiles between ATS and LinkedIn Recruiter Profile ID. Then the initial InMail sent will be tracked no matter if they respond or accept. If they accept you will get the response InMail and additional contact information from the LinkedIn member if they agree to provide it.
