❓ Problem:
When using the AMS Excel Add-in, dropdowns or other interactive elements (such as combo boxes) may fail to appear or function as expected.

Cause: This is usually due to Microsoft Excel’s security settings blocking ActiveX controls. Recent Office updates have introduced stricter default policies that may prevent these controls from being loaded — even if the add-in is trusted.

✅ Solution:
To allow the AMS Add-in to function correctly:

  1. Open Excel.
  2. Go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings.
  3. Click ActiveX Settings.
  4. Select “Prompt me before enabling all controls with minimal restrictions”.
  5. Click OK to save and close all settings windows.
  6. Close and reopen Excel.

This setting ensures trusted interactive elements can work, while still giving you visibility and control over unknown content.

Tip: If you’re using a managed corporate device, your IT department may control these settings via Group Policy. In this case, please contact your IT support for help enabling the setting.
