KT-1010SCRB Imaging Process

This document will walk you through the steps necessary to flash the firmware on the KT-1010SCRB.

*This update process requires a Windows PC and has been tested on Windows 10.

Required Downloads

These files should be downloaded as they will be used in the steps below to update the KT-1010SCRB

USB Driver – Rockchip USB Driver
Android Update Tool – Android Tool V2.65
Firmware Image – KT-1010SCRB Firmware

Step 1 – Install & Test ‘Rockchip USB Driver’

Note – There’s no need to connect your device during this procedure.

1. Unzip ‘RK_DriverAssistant.zip’.
2. Double click on DriverInstall.exe in the RKDriverAssistant directory to start the utility. If you’ve previously tried to install the Rockchip USB drivers for any other Rockchip based devices make sure you click “Uninstall Driver” first.
   

3. Then click ‘Install Driver’ and when the driver has finished installing you can close out and connect the KT-1010SCRB to your computer (via the micro-USB connector).
4. Open ‘Device Manager’ on your computer and you should see the Rockchip device listed

Step 2 – Android Tool V2.65

1. Unzip ‘AndroidToolRelease_v2.45.zip’
2. Double click on ‘AndroidTool.exe’ to run the tool.
   p(banner tip). If using Windows 7 or above, you need to select “Run As Administrator” or allow UAC when opening the tool
3. Select ‘Upgrade Firmware’ tab at the top of the tool

Step 3 – KT-1010SCRB – Navigate to the ‘Home Page’

1. Press ‘Menu’ button on the top of the KT-1010SCRB

2. Enter passcode ‘Kramer’
3. Select ‘Home Page’

Step 4 – Connect KT-1010SCRB to computer (via the micro-USB connector)

*You should see ‘Found One ADB Device’ in the AndroidTool

Step 5 – Allow USB Debugging

1. Tap on ‘Always allow from this computer’

2. Tap ‘OK’ to Allow USB Debugging

Step 6 – Click ‘Switch’ within ‘AndroidTool’

*The AndroidTool will now display ‘Found One LOADER Device’ indicating that it is ready to upgrade the KT-1010SCRB

Step 7 – Unzip and select firmware file – KT-1010SCRB Firmware

1. Unzip the folder ‘KT-1010SCRB.AP6255_IL.Kramer.IVO_M101NWWB_R3.V1.0_0.10.11w.20200918.zip’
2. Open the folder and select ‘USB_Burn’
3. Unzip the folder ‘USB_Burn’
4. Select ‘Firmware’ button in the ‘AndroidTool’

5. Open folder ‘KT-1010SCRB.AP6255_IL.Kramer.IVO_M101NWWB_R3.V1.0_0.10.11w.20200918.zip’
6. Open folder ‘USB_Burn’
7. Open folder ‘USB_Burn’
8. Select ‘update.img’
9. Select ‘Open’

Upgrade Firmware

1. Select ‘Upgrade’ button in the ‘AndroidTool’ to start burning the firmware.

!DO NOT POWER OFF WHILE UPDATING. Powering off the KT-1010SCRB while it is upgrading will Brick the KT-1010SCRB.

2. The firmware burn process will take approximately 5 minutes to complete

*While performing the firmware burn the tablet may restart a couple of times automatically. Once the tablet boots normally into the default app (Kramer Control on KT-1010/KT-1010RB & Kronomeet on KT-1010SC/KT-1010SCRB) you can disconnect the USB cable from the tablet.

Enable ‘Navigation Bar’

1. Navigate to the ‘Home Page’ of the KT-1010SCRB
   1. Press ‘Menu’ button on the top of the KT-1010SCRB

2. Enter passcode ‘Kramer’
3. Select ‘Home Page’

1. Select ‘Settings’
2. Select ‘Display’
3. Turn ‘Hide Status Bar’ to Off

*This will now allow users to more easily navigate around the KT-1010SCRB

Launch ‘KramerAppUpdate’ app

!KT-1010SCRB MUST have internet access for this next process.

1. Navigate to the ‘Home Page’ of the KT-1010SCRB
   1. Press the ‘Circle’ button on the bottom navigation bar

1. Select ‘Applications’ button
2. Launch ‘KramerAppUpdate’ app

Update ‘Kramer Control’ app

1. Tap on ‘Kramer Control’
2. Turn Off ‘Auto Update’ by tapping on the ‘Auto Update’ toggle switch

*Auto Update SHOULD remain OFF for the Kramer Control app after the app gets updated

3. Tap on ‘Install Update’

*This will install the ‘Server Version’ of the Kramer Control app

Update ‘Kronomeet’ app

1. Tap on ‘Kronomeet’
2. Turn Off ‘Auto Update’ by tapping on the ‘Auto Update’ toggle switch
3. Tap on ‘Install Update’

*This will install the ‘Server Version’ of the Kronomeet app

1. Turn ‘Auto Update’ back on by tapping on the ‘Auto Update’ toggle switch

*Auto Update should be on for Kronomeet when complete

Test Kramer Control app

1. Launch ‘Kramer Control’ application and make sure that it launches successfully
   1. Press ‘Circle’ button on the bottom navigation bar
   2. Tap on ‘Kramer Control’ icon to open the Kramer Control app
   3. Make sure that the app goes into the Sign-in screen

Test Kronomeet app and add to Home Page

1. Add Kronomeet app to the Home Page
   1. Press ‘Circle’ button on the bottom navigation bar
   2. Select ‘Applications’ button
   3. Press & Hold on the Kronomeet Icon
      1. Drag Kronomeet Icon down and place it between the Kramer Control icon and the applications icon

1. Launch ‘Kronomeet’ application and make sure that it launches successfully
   1. Press ‘Circle’ button on the bottom navigation bar
   2. Tap on ‘Kronomeet’ icon to open the Kronomeet app
   3. Make sure that the app goes to the Sign-in screen

Close all open apps

1. Press ‘Square’ button on the bottom navigation bar
2. Press the ‘X’ in the top right of each application window to close the application

Disable ‘Navigation Bar’

1. Navigate to the ‘Home Page’ of the KT-1010SCRB
   1. Press ‘Menu’ button on the top of the KT-1010SCRB

2. Enter passcode ‘Kramer’
3. Select ‘Home Page’

1. Select ‘Settings’
2. Select ‘Display’
3. Turn ‘Hide Status Bar’ to On

*This will hide the navigation bar and will require the user to press the ‘Menu’ button on the top back of the KT-1010SCRB in order to get to the Home Page.

The KT-1010SCRB is now ready for use or shipping
