Overview
KDS 3 units are h.264 encoders built for HDMI signals up to 1080p60. Kramer Control can control the Encoders and Decoders that have been installed by following the process below.
KDS 3 Software
Before configuring the Kramer Control builder for control of the KDS, there are items we require from the KDS 3 software. This software is used to configure the KDS system and contains passwords and rtsp stream information. This software is only supported for PC usage at this time.
Password – The KDS system requires a password for each of the installed Encoders and Decoders. This password will be required in the Gateway setup of Kramer Control
Stream Address – Encoders within the KDS system have a unique Stream address for each encoder. This address will be required as an Alias in the Kramer Control Builder. You can identify this address by selecting the Decoder in the KDS-EN3 manager and entering the Control section. Select each Source from the dropdown and copy the address to use within the Kramer Control Builder

Create Aliases for each Encoder. Make sure to include the full Stream Address string. This string will start with rtsp:// as shown in the image below
Repeat the above steps if you have multiple Decoders installed within this location
Drag and drop the Set Source button to your UI/Macros/Events
Gateway Setup
Each KDS Decoder will require its own Gateway. Each Decoder will be identified by the IP address that appears within the KDS software
Add New Network Gateway
Enter IP address of Decoder and click the button to Create
Drag and Drop device to Center Pane and make sure that protocol shows HTTPS
Change password to match what was created in the KDS software
You can find the password by scrolling down within the Properties section after dragging device in the previous step
