Autosave files

FlexiCAD automatically creates a backup autosave file of your work-in-progress as you are working, so that a file may be recovered in the event of an unforeseeable incident such as battery dying, or operating system crash.

To open an Autosave file:

1. From the File menu (F3D button), select ‘Open Auto Save File’
   

2. From the Open Backup File menu, select the file you wish to reopen. A preview of the file will show. You may click on ‘Date Modified’ to sort by the most recent creation date in order to find the most recent files.
   

*Note: With the release of FlexiCAD 3.1 (June 2021), Autosave files will now automatically recover Flexijet photos, site photos, and voicenotes from the Windows temp files if available.

To adjust Autosave settings:

FlexiCAD automatically saves the current file every 2 minutes by default. After 1000 saves, the oldest Autosave data is overwritten.

The directory for these Autosave backup files, and the time between auto-saves can be selected in the General Preferences window.
