2D-Projection is accessed by right-clicking on a folder and navigating to Plane > 2D Projection.
With this command, all elements in a folder are projected perpendicularly to the plane of the current folder. For example, suppose some elements were drawn in 3D, if the plane of the current folder was redefined, or if elements were copied from another folder with a different plane.
As shown in this image, we have a square, but one of the corners was drawn in 3D. So, if we use or tool 2D projection, we can flatten the corner and have our four corners in the same plane.
Note: To Flatten to Z=0 during export, select the option ‘Project Elements to Z=0’ on the ‘Transformations’ window that appears during the export process. More information about exporting here.
