The commission shall take action on programs that have completed a periodic review at its next regularly scheduled meeting.

Provisional Accreditation – for up to two years.

  1. Grant
  2. Grant with deficiencies:
    1. Programs must address and resolve the deficiencies within six months or one year, as specified by the commission.
    2. Commission specifies ACPE Standard, criteria, corrective action, and required documentation achieve compliance.
    3. Progress is documented in the program’s portfolio.
  3. Deny – If a program is denied provisional accreditation, they will receive a detailed report of the basis for the commission action. A program has the right to appeal the decision of the commission.

Initial Accreditation (following Provisional Accreditation)

  1. Grant for six years
  2. Grant with areas of non-compliance to be addressed and
    1. Require appropriate action to comply with standard(s) within three months.
    2. Commission specifies:
      1. ACPE Standard, criteria involved.
      2. Required corrective action and documentation to demonstrate full compliance.
  3. Deny – If a program is denied initial accreditation, they will receive a detailed report of the basis for the commission action. A program has the right to appeal the decision of the commission. The program will be allowed to complete any units of CPE currently in progress. Note: A program that is denied initial accreditation will not be moved back to provisional accreditation.

Continued Accredited Member/Reaccreditation

  1. Grant for six years
  2. Grant with areas of non-compliance to be addressed and either a or b below:
    1. Require appropriate action to comply with standard(s) within three months. Commission specifies:
      1. ACPE standard, criteria involved.
      2. Required corrective action and documentation to demonstrate full compliance.
    2. Initiate an adverse action
Note: A program may not be moved from full accreditation back to provisional accreditation.
